Each year, government departments and agencies offer a number of sandwich placements. The placements are open to undergraduate students taking a degree course or equivalent. In most cases, students studying for a masters degree are also eligible to apply but are advised to check with the department or agency shown below before doing so.
Pay and Allowances
Individual departments and agencies set their own training allowance rates for all staff below the Senior Civil Service. This also includes all temporary employment, student placements and vacation work. As a result, actual rates of pay offered by department and agencies will vary.
Eligibility
To obtain a sandwich course placement in a government department or agency, you will need to satisfy the Civil Service nationality rules.
