Civil Service Live – the biggest ever event for UK civil servants – will be held at London Olympia over the three days, 7 – 9 July. It's all about Innovation in Action, aiming to inspire you and give you the tools to go back to you job and make change happen. Whether you’re in policy-making or service delivery, this is a conference that has something for you.
If you're a UK civil servant, Civil Service Live is free to attend and there is something there for everyone. Every day there will be 30 plenary sessions and 45 workshops/seminars – some provided by innovative private sector companies to pass on their experience and skills. The Lions' Lair features civil servants who have pitched their ideas for innovatory change to a panel chaired by TV Dragon Peter Jones, and the Civil Service Challenge involved teams of civil servants working against the clock to recruit employers to offer apprenticeships to unemployed young people.
There will be some exciting (and challenging!) speakers – Alistair Campbell, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, Tim Smit, Rabbi Julia Neuberger, Polly Toynbee and Silicon Valley guru Howard Rheingold will all be at the event.
Holding the event at Olympia means that there will huge exhibition floor with an Innovation Space, set to challenge the way delegates think about approaching problems, and Origins and Destinations (an exhibition about the Civil Service past, present and future), as well as dozens of exhibition stands from both public and private sectors all showcasing innovative work and techniques.
