What is the Government Communication Network (GCN)?
The Government Communication Network (GCN) links all professional communicators across government and supports them in gaining the skills and knowledge they need to carry out their roles.
All government communicators are directly employed by different government departments, agencies or non-departmental public bodies.
There is also a small team of people working in the Cabinet Office whose role is to support the network by providing members with learning and development opportunities, tools, best practice and guidance.
The network is open to all civil servants who mainly work in a communication role. These individuals have exclusive access to networks, events and community tools (including forums and document sharing) on the GCN website.
Other civil servants can register on the website to access communication guidance and internal vacancies.
Who can join the GCN?
The network is open to all civil servants who mainly work in communications. This includes communicators who work in government departments, agencies or non-departmental public bodies.
