Human Resources Profession

The Civil Service HR Professionalism and Performance website is the online home for the Civil Service HR profession. It provides information and guidance for the Civil Service HR community, the wider Civil Service, and other welcome visitors.

Last updated - 21st July 2010

The Public area of the site provides those outside the HR community with an insight into HR in the Civil Service, the important role HR plays in helping departments to deliver their priorities, and the work we are doing to improve the quality of our service as a profession and as professionals.

The content on the HR Academy pages is for civil servants only, so you will need to login or register if you have not already done so.

You will also be able to find the HR Directors' Bulletins here.

Gill Rider

Dear All

I have been reminded that once again I am to judge the Civil Service Awards and it made be think about our own HR Awards – This year we have widened the field and we are using the 5 categories of our People Agenda:

  • Leadership and Talent Management

  • Resource Management

  • Learning and Development

  • Employee Engagement and Wellbeing

  • Performance Management

I believe this change will give us a chance to showcase and celebrate the progress that we have all made in the last 12 months.  I hope that your teams are nominating themselves and that you are encouraging others too.  The closing date is 6 August. The winner of each category will be announced at our conference in the Autumn.  This is our opportunity to “blow our own  trumpet”.
