Profile: Sophia Parker

Sophia Parker is an adviser on person-centred innovation and co-production to a range of organisations, currently including Kent County Council, the Innovation Forum for local government and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce.

She is an associate at the thinktank Demos, and author of The Journey to the Interface: how public service design can connect users to reform (Demos 2006) and Unlocking Innovation: why citizens hold the key to public service reform (Demos 2007). Until October 2006, Sophia was deputy director at Demos. Before that she worked on public service transformation at the Design Council, which used design-based participatory methodologies to engage with practitioners and policy makers.

Sophia has also worked as a civil servant at the Women and Equality Unit.
