Open To All

It's vital that the Civil Service reflects the society it serves. It's important that our work is informed by the widest possible set of influences, which is why we welcome ethnic, religious and cultural diversity.

Fast Streamers are recruited and promoted solely on ability and performance. Regardless of your gender, ethnic origin, disability, sexuality, age or marital status, if you have what it takes to join the Fast Stream, we look forward to your application.

Positive about Disabled PeopleCandidates with disabilities

If you have a disability that's prevented you from obtaining a degree - and you can provide alternative evidence of your suitability - the degree requirement to join the Fast Stream may be waived. When you apply, you are strongly encouraged to contact our Helpdesk (Tel. 01276 400 333) to discuss and agree any reseasonable adjustments required through the application process and at the test and interview centres. Every effort will be made to make appropriate arrangements.

Special procedures are available for candidates with disabilities as defined in the Disability Discrimination Act: ‘A physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term effect on a person's ability to carry out normal day-to-day duties'.

If this applies to you, you can ask for exemption from the online test stage.  You'll be offered a place at an e-Tray test centre with reasonable adjustments provided.  If you are successful at e-Tray you will be invited to an assessment centre Familiarisation (half) Day in London prior to attending the Fast Stream Assessment Centre.
