Applying for the High Potential Development Scheme
If you are at director or deputy director level, you can apply for a place on the scheme through your department.
To do this you'll need to put forward a structured, evidence-based application - assessing yourself against seven specific competencies. You'll also be asked to undertake a psychometric test and outline your development needs.
Your department then considers all its applicants and decides which candidates should be nominated for corporate assessment.
If your department puts you forward for the scheme, your application will be reviewed along with other candidates across the Civil Service, and you will be asked to attend an interview with a Permanent Secretary and a Director General.
If successful, you will be offered a place on the scheme.
