META - The Minority Ethnic Talent Association
Terms of reference
- The Minority Ethnic Talent Association (META) is a Civil Service Association for minority ethnic staff who have participated in a talent programme directed towards gaining entry into the Senior Civil Service. Membership is on a voluntary basis. Applicants must be currently employed in the Civil Service.
- The purpose of the Association will be to ensure that the talents of minority ethnic staff are nurtured and publicised.
- To achieve these goals, META will:
- maintain a database of the membership, recording information on members’ qualifications, posts held, career progress and promotions. The data held will be based on information provided voluntarily by members and, with their permission, may be made available to Departments and recruitment agencies;
- arrange or commission training and recruitment events
- consult with Departments about opportunities for mentoring, coaching, placements, job shadowing etc. to assist members in their professional careers;
- act as a support network and discussion forum;
- liase as appropriate with Departments, recruiters, employers and other relevant groups to represent and promote the interests of members
