Profile: Ed Williams
Ed runs his own consultancy business specialising in helping organisations to develop their approach to responsible business practice.
Between 2000 and 2005 he was head of corporate responsibility at Marks & Spencer, establishing and implementing the company's CR strategy and achieving BITC Company of the Year, twice in three years.
Ed's clients include HMRC, Argent Group, Barrow Cadbury Trust, BAT, Serco, Youth at Risk and Virgin Group. He has also worked as Jubilee Director for BITC.
Ed was awarded an MBE in 2000 for his work in leading Children's Promise, a millennium campaign for M&S which raised £23m and benefited some 43,000 children in need around the world. His non-executive appointments include Commissioner on the Barrow Cadbury Trust Commission on Young Adults and the Criminal Justice System, deputy chairman of the Corporate Responsibility Group, member of the North London Advisory Board of Common Purpose, HR adviser to the Royal National Theatre and Chair of Alone in London.
