Civil Service Management Code

A hard copy version of the Civil Service Management Code (CSMC) and amendments was discontinued in April 2000. Departments and agencies now receive electronic notification of changes to the CSMC, on which the Council of Civil Service Unions will have been consulted, and have access to the current version through the Cabinet Office website. The distribution list has also been thoroughly reviewed and notification of changes is currently issued to about 150 contact addressees including a small number outside the Civil Service (e.g. public sector organisations, foreign embassies, etc.) A special pocket-sized edition of the CSMC is produced from time to time which is made available to overseas visitors. Amendments and additions to the distribution list should be addressed to Mike.Dawson@cabinet-office.x.gsi.gov.uk.
