About the Civil Service

CSSB and PSMG sub-groups

There are four sub-groups which examine specific issues that arise in CSSB and PSMG meetings and report back to the CSSB every month.

All four groups are headed by a member of the PSMG, and any other Permanent Secretary can ask to sit in on the meetings.

Areas of focus

• The Employee Relations group looks at any issues concerning the recruitment and day-to-day management of civil servants.
• The Corporate Function Leaders Board examines how the different functions across the Civil Service operate.
• The Delivery Council focuses on how to improve customer service.
• The Senior Leadership Committee on improving leadership capability
