About the Civil Service

Public Equality Duties

As part of its Public Equality Duties, the Civil Service consults and involves different racial groups, disabled people, and other men and women across the Service, to assess the impact our work has on each.

We publish details of our work, and its impact, through our race, disability and gender equality schemes - and explain how we are meeting the requirements under the equality duties.

Details of all departmental equality schemes are available on individual departments' websites, which you can access through Directgov website.

The Equalities and Human Rights Commission provides further details of the public duties.
