Workshops for policy makers
As part of the drive to establish standards in policy delivery across the Civil Service, Government Skills are holding four workshops in May for policy makers.
In the workshops, policy makers can learn about the new National Occupational Standards (NOS) that have been drafted and make sure they reflect the work of their organisation.
National Occupational Standards are definitions of competence that can be applied to job roles or occupations to aid skills development. The Standards work through identifying the performance, behaviours, knowledge and understanding individuals must demonstrate to be considered competent to carry out a particular task.
Government Skills is working with government departments as part of the Skills Strategy to establish these standards as a powerful tool to promote the skills that employers need in their workforce and the skills an individual needs to be successful in their job.
Government Skills are looking for policy professionals - primarily people at Grade 7 and below - to join them at the workshops to discuss the standards that have been drafted and offer their input and advice.
The workshops run between 10am and 12.30pm on:
- 19 May - Edinburgh
- 20 May - Cardiff
- 21 May - Belfast
- 22 May - Admiralty Arch, London
