More details of Civil Service Live’s free learning and development programme have been announced.
The event taking place at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster on 1st – 3rd April is free for all UK civil servants to attend and is aimed at encouraging innovation across the service.
Of the many activities taking place at Civil Service Live, the free learning and development programme provided by the National School of Government will be of particular interest to delegates from the senior civil service and those aspiring to it.
The sessions will cover 10 streams of learning and will feature prestigious, innovative and inspiring speakers from across the public and private sector, including:
- The award winning team behind the Northern Ireland Peace process discussing their success and sharing best practice
- Alexis Cleveland and Sir David Varney discussing how to shape the future of the civil service
- DIUS permanent secretary Ian Watmore giving examples of innovation and talking about how important innovation is to the UK
- Lesley Strathie, chief executive of Jobcentre Plus, giving her views on operational delivery
- Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health and Work, speaking on the Health of the Working Age population
- BERR permanent secretary Sir Brian Bender talking about making policy which delivers
